Using Wisdom To Realize Your Passion While true wisdom comes from God, there is some things we can do to protect it and ensure we are keeping the channel open to receiving it: Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. When we pursue wisdom, God is going to put passions into us. These passions lead to greater purpose in life and clearly reveal what plan God has for us. Guarding this passion will ensure that we are prosperous and happy in life because we are pursuing what God desires for us. How do we guard our passions, though? The next few verses show us how: Watch Your Mouth Proverbs 4:24 shows us we start guarding our passions and wisdom by watching how we talk about them. What we say to ourselves and others about our passions has a huge impact on how we pursue them. If we speak negatively or fearfully about what God has given us, we risk turning aside from our pursuits in God. If we speak positively and confidently, knowing that God is on our side and providing the wisdom necessary to achieve our goals, we will continue moving forward to achieve those passions in God. Keep Your Focus Forward Proverbs 4:25 encourages us to keep our focus on the path ahead of us. God often shows us the fullness of our promise before we achieve it. If we can keep our focus on the horizon, making sure we don't lose sight of our goal, we won't get lost or misguided in our pursuit of what God has promised us. Stick To The Plan Proverbs 4:26 teaches us to make sure we know what we are doing before we do it. If we want to be successful in our calling, we must make sure we are sticking to the plan God has given us. That plan is the wisdom He imparts to us in prayer It is the answers the Bible gives us when we open it up. It is the vision that appears when we are in the midst of fasting. It is the common sense God has given us to make sure we are doing things the right way. If we stick to the plan, we'll find ourselves on a road to success Don't Divert From The Path Proverbs 4:27 reminds us to not turn away from the path God has laid before us. There are a lot of distractions in this life. Some seem legitimate, while others are simply the flesh and the enemy trying to pull us away from the plan of God. We talked in a previous activation about the symbolism of the right and left hand from a good perspective. Their is a counter to that perspective, too. The right means prosperity and power. This would be the temptations of the world to take the easy way to success. The left is a symbol of covering and guarding. This would be the fears and uncertainties that keep us from acting boldly in God. We can't let the voices of either of these sides sway us. We must press forward to receive the promise that comes from pursuing God's wisdom. Try this week's Activation and check out the video below for a another look at Proverbs 4:23-27: Activation:
