As we travel down the road to Pentecost Sunday this year, we at tWTL ministries wanted to call all of our loyal readers to the cause of fasting. Fasting for a mighty move of God on May 15 this year. God is ready to move in your lives individually as well as your communities and churches collectively. He is just looking for some people who will reach out and claim the promises he has for us.
For today, read Joel 2:15-18, 27-30. As you read these two sections of scripture, take to heart these words: When we sanctify, or set apart, ourselves from the world and the flesh to fast unto God, we open ourselves up to the rich blessings of His mighty power to be poured out onto us and those around us. Revival is coming. The question for us is will we be ready to receive it? What are we willing to give up over the next 28 days to see it happen? As a helpful guide, tWTL are doing a progressive fast for 21 days in which we add something to our fast every 3 days. For example, we are giving up coffee and desserts starting today. We will add to that something else on Thursday of this week. After 21 days, we plan to total fast for seven days. You can join us in this format or do whatever you like. All fasts, when done with a right heart and purpose for God are honored. We would love to hear from you about what you are going to fast in the comments. Tell us what you plan to fast and we will pray as a community of believers that God will give you the strength to endure.
