Looking For A Follower
Proverbs 8 starts by describing Wisdom as crying for followers in several different places, including hillsides, frequented pathways and entryways into cities. These are all places that would have been frequented by travelers of all kinds. It shows us that Wisdom is looking for people in all walks and stations of life. Wisdom is wanting to develop us into something great. But what?
To Be A Leader
We see that Wisdom is wrapped up in the lives of rulers. Those who want to be successful in life must learn Wisdom so they can effectively operate within their purpose. If we want to be effective leaders in our community and in our circles of influence, we must let Wisdom lead us in our decision making. We can attain this through prayers for discernment and guidance for each day. God will not lead us astray if we trust Him completely.
Next, Wisdom claims that it brings riches and honor with it. This is to say that we can be prosperous in our lives if we let Wisdom in to lead us. However, we cannot think that it is the prosperity that our flesh desires, but that which God desires for us. God may want us to have temporal wealth and success, but he most definitely wants us to have spiritual prosperity first. When we let Wisdom into our lives, it brings with it a prosperity that establishes us from the outset. We will find solutions to issues in our community and people's spiritual lives that were never though of by others. We'll be the voice of understanding to those who are in chaos. We'll have solutions for those drowning in dilemmas. It all comes from yielding our desires to the desires of God. Then, Wisdom is able to come in and adorned us with its riches of love and grace and mercy.
To Create Anew
Wisdom is described as having been with God at the very beginning of creation. It was there before the earth was created and the seas were brought forth. Before man stood erect, God's wisdom was permeating the universe. To have such ancient wisdom at the ready means to have the wisdom that helped to create the universe. That helped to create the entire world! Your world can be recreated and imagined anew with the wisdom of God in your life. By eliminating our worldly mindset and submitting the mind that made the universe, we can have insight into our lives and how to create something worthwhile of it.
With wisdom, we can become the leader God desires us to be, the bearer of prosperity that God intends us to become, and finally dwell in an existence that God intended for us. All it takes is prayer, submission and a new mindset on Jesus and His ways. If we do this, we'll go to new heights in God, further places than we ever thought and into new arenas we never imagined.
